The Tiger (Panthera tigris)

This collection was inspired by the watercolor drawings of Thou Channy, Senior Artist at the Giant Puppet Project, to help raise awareness about conservation and the plight of endangered species in Cambodia. 20% of the sales price of each onesie goes directly to Fauna in Focus.

Tigers are an endangered species with only a few thousand individuals remaining in the wild. They are the largest cat in the world, but have lost about 90% of their habitat over the last century. There are only six subspecies of tiger left (two were recently declared extinct). The Bengal tiger is the subspecies native to SE Asia, but it is uncertain if any Bengal tigers remain in Cambodia. The last one was spotted in 2008, and since then researchers have not found even a footprint. Tigers are worth a lot of money on the black market, and are often hunted for their skins and body parts which are used in traditional Chinese medicines. Another big threat is the loss of their wild ungulate prey. As humans over hunt wild cattle and deer, the tigers are loosing vital prey species.

This onesie is made from lightweight, single-sided fleece (180 gsm). One size fits all. Design includes elastic wrists and ankles, center zip, hand warmers with webbed fingers, and whiskers that flow freely in the breeze.
